Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib represents Michigan’s 12th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Tlaib is also the founder and current chair of the Congressional Mama’s Caucus. She says Congress must do a better job including mothers in decisions about caregiving legislation affecting them.
“We always hear in the halls of Congress constant conversation about policy about mothers, that impacts mothers, but it’s not done with mothers,” says Tlaib.
