DETROIT — This Thursday and Friday, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-13), together with the U.S. House Get the Lead Out Caucus and local advocates, will lead a statewide congressional tour to Benton Harbor, Flint, Pontiac, and Wayne County Communities to highlight the importance of clean drinking water. This tour will be the inaugural field event for the newly-formed bipartisan Get the Lead Out Caucus, co-led by Congressmembers Tlaib, Debbie Dingell (MI-12), Lisa Blount-Rochester (DE-At Large), and Peter Meijer (MI-03). The goal of the caucus is to raise awareness around the issue of lead in our nation’s drinking water and to advance resources to remove every lead service line in the country.

The tour aims to highlight communities and residents across the state who have been engaged around the need to remove lead service lines and lead from drinking water. The tour will travel to Benton Harbor, Flint, Pontiac, Highland Park, Hamtramck, and Dearborn Heights.
