WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) released the following in regard to the massive flooding that has occurred in several communities across the 13th Congressional District and Wayne County due to heavy rainfall this week. The flooding has prompted the Wayne County and the state of Michigan to declare emergencies to make additional resources available to municipalities and residents:
“I am grateful for the leadership of Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Wayne County Executive Warren Evans in declaring emergencies to ensure that our municipalities and residents get the resources they need following devastating flooding. I remain in constant contact with my colleagues on the local, state, and federal levels and am regularly receiving and giving updates on this situation. The 13th Congressional District Neighborhood Service Centers operated by my office are open to residents for any assistance, including documenting any damages and helping with every step of the process in making the whole after the floods. My office will continue to release information as we become of aware of it. I encourage residents to please document any and all flood damage and report it to their local municipality as soon as possible.”
