Dear 12th District Educator, Our office is pleased to announce that we are hosting the 2023 Congressional App Challenge!

The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The Challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and talent. See our winner of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) here: https://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/22-MI13/.The House of Representatives knows how crucial it is to build future leaders in the computer science and STEM fields. By encouraging and recognizing our nation’s young programming talent, Congress hopes to shine a light on the growing importance of these skills. We want to uplift these winning teams, which is why each winning app will be put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.

This competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. We strongly encourage students of all skill levels to participate, enabling them to learn how to create their own apps. Students are encouraged to register online and submit their apps by November 1st (*Apps coded after November 1st, 2022 are eligible for the 2023 Congressional App Challenge). Winners of the 12th Congressional District App Challenge will be announced by December 31st, followed in January with the CAC making the National Winners Announcement.
